This is going to be a short and sweet blog, I don't have a lot of spare time, as I am at San Diego Comic Con :) Last night was Preview Night, and we wandered around to try and find friends and get a quick overview of what was out there. I did pick up my Kickstarter copy of Peter Han's Dynamic Bible, and I bought Todd Lockwood's novel from him as well :)
They have instituted an RFID signal for badges, which will definitely cut down on scalping, and is probably a good thing, although it may cause bottlenecks at doorways.
Artist Alley feels even smaller this year, which I didn't think was possible. There are hundreds of artists in the exhibition hall with the more expensive booths, but gone are the days of comic book artists getting exposure here...this is a con for the super stars and their fans.
There are a couple of panels I'm interested, but mostly I'm here to see my friends, experience the energy and to enjoy the spectacle. Next year, the plan is to do Iceland instead of SDCC, so there's a certain "enjoy the last moments of summer" vibe for me too.
To make it a *bit* art related, here are some silhouette thumbnails I did yesterday on the trip down on my iPad in Paintstorm, which is a FANTASTIC app for working on the tablet.
Sorry for the abbreviated entry! Thanks again for reading, and check back next week for more of the regular-type posts!
